Frequently Asked Questions

Please choose from one of the following groups of questions:

What other member services do you provide?

BikePark takes pride in encouraging many more people to enjoy safe recreational commuting. We recognise that cycling on crowded bicycle paths can be daunting and high volume traffic can be very unnerving to new commuters. We are working in consultation with several organisations to deliver Cycle Skills courses. We want to assist our members by improving their road confidence with skills courses and free bike safety checks.

Bicycle maintenance is available with prior booking. A team of bicycle technicians will be on hand to provide professional service and have your bicycle ready by 5PM each day or at other times by arrangement. Our technicians will also demonstrate DIY basic maintenance courses at lunch times.

BikePark is also looking to encourage a community spirit among our users so we are planning touring events and challenge rides in 2010.

What types of bicycle service are available and who provides the service?

Bicycle cleaning, safety assessments and maintenance services are provided by skilled bicycle technicians and staff. Bicycle maintenance service is available throughout the week with prior reservation. All services will be completed on the same day by 5PM unless other arrangements have been made. You can book your bike in for a range of packaged services or to fix a specific problem.

Do I get any discounts as a member of a cycling organisation such as Bicycle Victoria?

We sponsor various cycling organisations and offer special benefits to their members. Please present your membership card and we will be happy to outline these benefits to you.

When will the facility be staffed?

BikePark is staffed from 7AM to 7PM with our Facility Service Officers in attendance from 7AM to 10AM and 4PM to 7PM. At other times, service technicians and authorised contractors will be carrying out cleaning and bike repairs as necessary.

What are your opening times?

BikePark is open 24 hours, 7 days for Members. Casual Users may access our services from 7AM to 7PM every weekday except public holidays.

What payment methods will you accept?

BikePark will accept Cash, Direct Debit, B-Pay, Credit Card (Visa and MasterCard) and cheque by arrangement.

Do I need to provide my credit or direct debit card details?

If you choose a Term Membership, it is more convenient for you to provide BikePark with your charge details so that your membership does not lapse. You are guaranteed access to all amenities. In addition, you can also charge sundry purchases to your charge card. In this way, you need never pay by cash. BikePark will debit your account each fortnight. We will send a fortnightly statement of charges to your preferred email address.

How do I use the valet laundry service?

You will be given a laundry bag tagged with your membership number. Just place your laundry items in the bag provided and drop this laundry bag in the laundry bin. When the clothes are returned, our staff will hang these items in your locker. If you are a Casual User, you collect your laundry items from reception.

Laundry service is Pay-As-You-Go. However you can choose to add the laundry charges to your BikePark account if you have provided us with details of your debit or credit card.

As a BikePark Casual User, I may have to work late beyond 7PM, how can I arrange to store my bicycle overnight?

Generally there may be a staff member at BikePark until 8PM tidying up, so you may be able to make an arrangement to collect your bicycle after 7PM. Alternatively, we can activate your access card to allow you to collect your bike and personal items the next morning before 9AM, if it is a weekend or public holiday. You will need to arrange this with the staff member when you park your bike in the morning.
